Whether you need some painting work done or are looking at building redevelopment: we offer solid craftsmanship skills combined with competent service.

Since 1932, the name Lucian Thum has stood for craftsmanship skills, commercial care and consistent customer orientation. Originally founded by Lucian Thum as a painting and decorating firm, the company's service portfolio has grown consistently with the demands of the customers.

Today, Jens Rathmer, the grandson of the company founder, and his team help both commercial and private customers in realising small and large building projects. With our own permanently employed staff, we offer all traditional painting and decorating, drywall construction and floor-laying work. We work reliably, quickly, on time and at a high level.

As general contractors, we offer turnkey interior finishing and tenant fit-out work for the real estate industry. We provide planning, coordination, execution and invoicing from a single source. That means for you maximum cost security, short building times and much less stress.

Bringing art and culture direct to the people.

As a partner from the very start, we have been supporting the ‘asphalt’ festival with full conviction for some time now. We consider it to be a tremendous idea: "Out of the theatre, into the city". We help to bring internationally celebrated ensembles away from traditional event locations directly to the people – in the heart of our city. We are again looking forward this year to a varied program of music, dance, theatre, performance, literature and visual arts.

In the meantime, some of the performances are developed especially for the festival and put on stage in a co-production with ‘asphalt’. This demonstrates the considerable importance that the ‘asphalt’ festival has gained for the art scene over the years.
